Sustainability
By providing our customers with a fresh and natural product, we are committed to working according to sustainability principles and ensuring minimal food waste. We sort the produce based on ripeness, size (caliber), and market appearance – this way, products are classified into specific grades. If products are no longer suitable for consumption, they are transported to specialized waste management companies and disposed of according to health and environmental protection requirements.
Customers can purchase fresh products that are not suitable for mass retail due to appearance, but still fresh, at cost price in the branded “Augma” stores located in Vilnius, Vydmantai, and Šilutė. Store addresses can be found in the contact section.
For a portion of our packaged products, we use recycled cardboard packaging, which can also be further recycled. As the first producers in Lithuania to pack fruits, vegetables, and herbs in sustainable packaging, we became one of the first members of the “Ateities pakuotės” club. The goal of this club is to encourage Lithuanian producers and importers to use more eco-friendly packaging, share best practices in this field, implement environmental initiatives, and foster ecological awareness in Lithuanian society.
